The Swim England Adult and Child Award is a prestigious recognition for both adults and children who have achieved six practical skills in swimming and passed a short written test on water safety, handling, and support. This award is designed to enhance the swimming experience for the supporting adult and the child, ensuring safety and confidence in the water. The award process involves accumulating practical skills over multiple sessions, with a minimum of four questions needing to be answered correctly. It is a testament to the skills and knowledge demonstrated by both the adult and child participants. 

We use the Discovery Duckling Awards 1-4 following the adult and child certification. These awards are ideal for gaining water confidence while staying close to adult support. Duckling awards are then awarded to children as they begin to move by themselves in the water. The duckling awards are great at promoting increased independence and water confidence to help prepare for stage 1 of the learn to swim framework.
